Acupuncture

Acupuncture Acupuncture is an effective form of medicine that has been practiced in China for over three thousand years. It is a safe, drug-free way to treat a wide variety of conditions and to establish health and balance in one’s life. It is important in preventing disease and treating pain.

Five Element Acupuncture is based on the laws of nature, focusing on all aspects of a person’s Body, Mind and Spirit to achieve the highest potential of health. The Elements are Fire, Earth, Metal, Water and Wood. When these energies are functioning in harmony and balance we feel healthy, happy, and have energy. Symptoms are a sign that some part of us is out of balance.

Five element practitioners see people not only as they present themselves in illness, but more importantly as they would be in perfect health and balance, in full discovery of their true nature, unique in body mind and spirit. Moving towards this then becomes the purpose of treatment. Since treatment reaches the Body, the Mind and the Spirit, it is useful in addressing many psychological concerns. It can assist in bringing the clarity, strength and focus from within oneself that is so essential in the healing process.

In the body is a network of channels in which the life-force energy or Qi flows. If these channels become blocked or obstructed, disease, and often pain, occurs. Acupuncture works by unblocking these pathways and allowing the body to use its innate wisdom to heal from within. Research shows that stimulation of the acupuncture point’s releases hormones and chemicals that reduce pain, regulate the endocrine and calm the nervous system. Sterile, disposable, one-time-use, stainless steel needles that are nearly as thin as a human hair are used. They penetrate only slightly below the skin’s surface. Sensations vary among individuals; most report no pain at all, while some people experience a dull ache or tingling that quickly dissipates.
